Fear is a FEELING produced by a perceived threat. We develop these based on our experiences and they can cause us to change the way we behave and react.
A red flag is SIGNAL to this feeling of fear; causing us to either react or not react.
Think of it like flag football: you want to stop the other player from entering your endzone with a belt full of flags. The flag is not the issue, but a prelude to a potential issue and it is up to us whether we choose to ignore the flags, or collect them.
Red flags are much like the dummy lights in your car. If we pay attention to the lessons we’ve learned in life, we should be aware of just how important it is to pay attention. We should know which indicators are of vital importance, and which are just gentle nudges.
We do not need to be afraid each and every time dummy light pops on in our cars, and it’s the same with the indicators in life. We just need to remain aware and address them. This is where communication with people and connection to your inner self is so vitally important.
Don’t live in fear, don’t let assholes in your endzone, and don’t neglect your dummy lights.
